Rich Basco: Bass
As a child Rich Basco rode his dirt bike up and down his grandfather’s airport runways in Pottstown, PA. He felt the power, freedom and energy in the movement of the bike and the thrill of watching planes take off and land.
When his family moved south, Rich no longer had those open spaces, but after a friend introduced him to the bass guitar, Rich found that same kinetic energy in playing bass guitar hours on end. He replaced that bike with metal strings and wood. Playing the bass became his passion in life.
Rich Basco was faced with the decision to play bass or to work a day-to-day job without the same energy. He turned it into his passion. Rich made a definite decision on his choice for living, both in occupation AND vocation. He combined them. Rich is a bass player. Rich says, “To be me is to do what I love and get paid for it. Playing in the band SwampDaWamp is the best job in the world…be myself do what I want. Playing great music with a group of talented musicians is what it’s all about."
